Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive pick up & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, meet your driver guide from and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. The drive from Entebbe to Lake Bunyonyi is roughly 8-10 hours via ankle plains, and kigezi rolling hills. Stop at the Uganda equator for refreshment and have a lunch break in Mbarara city before proceeding to Kabale. Overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort

Day 2: Boat cruise & batwa community visit

Have breakfast and go for boat cruising on the calm waters of the Lake. The cruise offers you spectacular views of local homes, farms and the rolling hills best for photography. Visit the punishment island where unmarried pregnant Bakiga women where taken and left to die alone. Other islands include Bucurunaniko, which means upside down, Akampene, Bushara and Bwama islands among others. In the afternoon, visit batwa communities to learn and experience local people’s traditions, norms, beliefs and customs. Overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort

Day 3:  Nature walking & Zip lining

Enjoy relaxed breakfast and go for a nature walk in Nyombe swamp. The swamp shelters a variety of birds and ground insects, which you will definitely see. Return to the re sort for lunch and late join the zip lining team to enjoy the views of the lake from above.

Day 4: Mountain gorilla trekking

This is the great day for trekking the endangered mountain gorillas. Following a heavy breakfast, the resort will give you packed lunch and then transfer to Bwindi Forest to see the gorillas. You will gather with other travelers at the respective Bwindi park headquarters where you ill be registered, briefed and divided into groups of eight. The trek to see gorillas starts at 8:00am and can last up to over 7 hours depending on where gorilla will be located that day. The allowed time with gorillas is strictly an hour counted from the time you set your eyes on these endangered primates.

Day 5: Chill at Lake Bunyonyi

Spend this whole day chilling at Lake Bunyonyi relaxing from the previous days’ gorilla trekking fatigue. You can do any optional activity at the lake, sunbathe, swim and walk around to explore the beauty of this small lake.

Day 6: 1st Meeting in Kigali

You will have your first meeting in Kigali today. Have an early morning breakfast at the resort and drive to Kigali to meet up with your fellow members. Spend this whole day and in the evening return to Lake Bunyonyi for an overnight stay

Day 7: 2nd Conference meeting

After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to Kigali for your second conference meeting. In the evening, return to Lake Bunyonyi for an overnight

Day 8: 3rd Meeting in Kigali

Have breakfast and transfer to Kigali for your 3rd meeting, which is the last one. Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort.

Day 9: Departure

Have a relaxed breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport for your connecting flight
