Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

The driver guide representing our company will pick you from either Entebbe airport or your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe for a transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. The drive time is roughly 8-10 hours with various stopovers for lunch and refreshment. You will stop by the local markets to buy fresh fruits, roasted maize, rolex and muchoma, which together make your day more enjoyable and fun. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort

Day 2: Boat cruising, zipping & swimming

After a relaxed breakfast, go for a boat cruising experience to enjoy the beauty of this deep beautiful lake. The cruise to the islands, lakeshores and all corners of this lake is an opportunity to discover all that this lake offers. The cruise also offers you great views of the local communities and gardens surrounding Lake Bunyonyi. Later on, go for a zip lining adventure for aerial views of the lake. The experience entail swimming above the lake on ropes toed on ropes in the opposite sides of the lake. In the evening, enjoy swimming in fresh and clean waters of the Lake. Bunyonyi is free from wild water animals such as hippos, crocodiles and bilharzia, which make it safe for swimming. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort

Day 3: Community tour & Nyombe wetland walk

You will have a sunrise breakfast and thereafter go for a community tour to meet and interact with local people living near Lake Bunyonyi. Bakiga and Batwa are the common people near the lake! Community visits give you chance to learn the traditions, norms and customs of these indigenous people. Traditional dances and songs are also performed to welcome you into their communities. Return to the resort for hot lunch. In the afternoon, go for a nature walk in Nyombe wetland, which hosts various birds and insects. A nature walk is the best way to enjoy the natural environment. Day 4: Mountain biking & volunteer in domestic activities at Lake Bunyonyi

Following breakfast, go for mountain biking to the hilly areas surrounding Lake Bunyonyi on a bike. Ride through local farms and villages, meeting and interacting with local people. Biking to the top of Kigezi hills offers you scenic views of Lake Bunyonyi and the beautiful kigezi. Return to the resort for lunch and refreshment. Later in the day, take part in different domestic activities done at the resort such as rearing rabbits, bee keeping, grazing goats and feeding pigs among others.

Day 5:Bird watching & ironsmith

Have a relaxed sunrise breakfast and for a guided bird watching experience. Discover different little many birds in the swampy and forested parts of Lake Bunyonyi some of which are not found anywhere else in Uganda. Some of the birds to see on Lake Bunyonyi include African KingFisher, African Harrier hawk, White tailed monad, Weavers, Egrets, Herons and Cuckoos among others. Relaxed at the lodge for lunch and refresh. In the afternoon, visit the bukoro ironsmith to see how local people make a variety of materials by heating and mending different metals. Day 6: Departure

This is the last day of our 6 Days safari. You can do any optional activity in the morning hours. Have breakfast, check out and depart to catch-up with your connecting flight
