Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: pick up & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport where you will find your driver guide form our company waiting for you. Meet, greet and start off the drive headed to Lake Bunyonyi in southwestern Uganda. This 8-19 hours drive entails stopovers at the Equator and local markets. You will have an enroute lunch and proceed to Kabale reaching in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort

Day 2: Island tour, zip lining & community tour

Have a relaxed breakfast on the shores of the lake and go for an island tour by boat. Visit different islands at the lakes such as the punishment island where unmarried Bakiga pregnant women would be taken and left to die. The other islands to visit include Bucuraniko which means upside down, Bushara, Bwama and Akampene among others. Today, you will also do a zip lining adventure, which entail swimming above the waters of the lakes clinging on ropes. In the evening, go for community tour for a cultural experience. Visit batwa pygmies who share their traditional forest life. The Bakiga people will also hare with you their traditions, norm, customs and beliefs that make them an exceptional tribe in the Pearl of Africa. Traditional dances and songs will be performed to welcome and entertain you!

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking

This day starts with early rise up, heavy breakfast and a transfer to Mgahinga gorilla National park in Kisoro district. Assemble at Ntebeko Visitor Information Centre for registration and briefing on the rules of golden monkey trekking. At 8:00am, armed rangers will guide you into the jungle looking for the endangered primates. The actual trekking time is not certain but ranges between 30 minutes to over 6 hours depending on your fitness, location of the primates and hiking abilities. Spend an hour with golden monkeys, take pictures and enjoy their lively characters. Besides golden monkeys, Mgahinga gorilla National park is home to the endangered mountain gorillas, Forest Elephants, African Buffalos and Colobus monkeys. The park is also home to over 180 bird species, which make it a best spot for birders.

Day 4: Boat cruising, mountain biking & Nyombe wetland walk

After breakfast, go for a boat cruising experience to explore all corners of the Lake. Cruise to the islands, to the lakeshores and all around the lake to discover all hidden gem. Cruising to the swampy lakeshores give you chance to see very many tiny birds after which the lake was named. Later on, you will go for mountain biking experience riding through local communities and farms. Biking is an opportunity to meet, interact and share with local people who share their daily lifestyles. In the evening, you can do an optional nature walk to Nyombe wetland. Day 5: Departure

Have a relaxed sunrise breakfast, as your enjoy your last, moments at Lake Bunyonyi. You will then check out and embark on a drive headed to Kampala for your connecting flight.
