Enjoy the 2 Days Bwindi gorilla tour for a meet up with the endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Forest during your stay at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort.  Mountain gorilla trekking has over the years been ranked as the best wildlife experience, a focus for most travelers to Africa. Bwindi Forest is home to half of the world’s total gorilla population, which makes it one of the best places to see these endangered species.  The other places where gorillas live are Volcanoes Park in Rwanda, Virunga National Park in Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla Park in Uganda.  The 2 Days trek also entails zip lining over the calm waters of Lake Bunyonyi. Enjoy the views of Lake Bunyonyi, farms and other attractions in the neighborhood of this second deepest Lake in Africa.  You will also visit batwa communities to meet and interact with these indigenous people

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Gorilla Trekking

Today you rise up very early, have breakfast at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort and with your packed lunch transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National where gorilla trekking takes place. Report to any one of the four sectors in Bwindi Forest where you will be registered and briefed on the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking.  You will be allocated a gorilla family to visit and also given an armed park ranger to escort you on the trek.  At 8:00am, start off a hike up and down in the jungle searching for the endangered gorillas. Hiking time is not certain but can range between 2-8 hours. You are however assured of meeting the gorillas at the end of the day. Throughout the trek, you are reminded to keep the guidelines to ensure a peaceful and enjoyable trek.  The allowed time with gorillas is strictly an hour counted from the time you meet them.  Enjoy the social characters of gorillas; see how the silverback gorilla guards his family, adult females feed babies while juveniles keep the family lively.  Hike down and drive back to Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort for an overnight

Day 2: Zip lining adventure & Batwa community tour

Have a relaxed sunrise breakfast on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi and thereafter, go for a zip lining adventure. The experience involves swinging over the calm waters of lake Bunyonyi from one shore to the other. Poles have been put on different lakeshores connected by strong ropes. You will swing from one shore to the other over the water.  Thereafter, you will go for a cultural tour to Batwa communities to meet and interact with these indigenous people.  These short people will sing and perform their traditional dances, songs and poems to entertain you. Visiting batwa people is an indirect way of supporting their livelihoods and standards of living.  In the evening, relax at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort or transfer to the airport for your connecting flight
