Enjoy our guided 11 Days Uganda safari to explore some of the to travel destinations and attractions in the Pearl of Africa. The 11 Days safari takes you to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s oldest and largest park located in northwestern Uganda. You will also visit Kibale Forest National Park, the “primates capital of Africa” for the lifetime chimpanzee trekking experience and then head to Lake Bunyonyi, which is the second deepest Lake in Africa. Overnight stays at Lake Bunyonyi Lake Resort will give you opportunity to take part and enjoy various activities done at and around Lake Bunyonyi such as mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and golden monkey tracking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. We shall start and end in Entebbe/Kampala

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up; Rhino tracking & transfer to Murchison Falls National

Early today, the driver guide from our company will pick you up from either your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe International Airport. After meet and greet, he will briefly take you through the itinerary introducing you to the expectations on the 10 Days safari. Thereafter, drive out of Kampala headed to Nakasongola for Rhino tracking experience at Zziwa Rhino sanctuary. You will then proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. Visit the top of the falls for clear views of the Nile squeezing through a narrow gorge dripping down to form the mighty waterfall.  Overnight stay at Pakuba Safari Lodge

Day 2: Morning Game drives & afternoon boat cruising

Rise up very early and go for morning game drives to catch up with early risers grazing and predators hunting before the sunset. The game drives through the open plains of Murchison Falls Park will offer you great views of various wild animals such as Lions, Leopards, Giraffes, Elephants, Waterbucks, Topis, Oribis, Hyenas, Hartebeest, Warthogs and Uganda Kobs among others.  Return to the lodge for late breakfast and chill as you wait for lunch. In the afternoon, join a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. The cruise offers you spectacular views of how the strong waters fall down into the devil’s cauldron forming a permanent rainbow. The banks of the river also shelter birds such as Black headed lapwing, Senegal thick-knee, Abyssinian ground hornbill, Silver bird and Black billed barbet among others. You will also see water animals such as crocodiles and hippos resting lazily at the muddy banks of the river.

Day 3:Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo Forest

After morning breakfast, transfer to Budongo forest for chimpanzee trekking experience. After registration and briefing, begin trek through the rain forest searching for the endangered chimpanzees. The forest is also home to other primates such as the colubus monkeys, which you will definitely meet.  Return to the lodge and spend the rest of the day resting.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National park

Today morning, you can do an optional morning game drive to see some animals you missed on the first experience. Have breakfast, check out and embark on a drive to Kibale Forest National Park located in Kabarole district in western Uganda. The drive through tea farms and banana plantations makes this journey so amazing. Have enroute lunch and proceed to the park arriving in the evening. Overnight stay at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi wetland walk

After having heavy breakfast at the lodge, get your packed lunch and transfer to Kanyanchu visitor Information where registration and briefing on the regulations of chimpanzee trekking takes place. The trek to see these endangered primates begin at 8:00am lasting for between 2-6 hours.   The loud laughs, hoots and shouts of chimpanzees heard from a distance give you a right direction to take. You will be allowed to spend an hour with a chimpanzee community to take pictures, capture videos and have a magical encounter with your close relatives.  During the trek, you may meet other primates in Kibale Forest such as Vervet monkeys baboons, red tailed colobuses, grey cheeked mangabeys, blue monkeys, L’hoest monkeys and black and white colobus among others.  In the afternoon, you will go for a guided nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary home to numerous birds, primates and insects.  Overnight stay at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge

Day 6:Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Enjoy your last moments in Kibale Forest, check out and embark on a journey to Lake Bunyonyi located in southwestern Uganda. Enjoy scenic views of ankole cattle farms, kigezi rolling hills and local homesteads enroute to Lake Bunyonyi. Overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort.

Day 7:Free day at Lake Bunyonyi

Spend this entire day relaxing and chilling on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi.  You can take part in any of the optional activities on Lake Bunyonyi such as island tour, zip lining and visit to batwa communities among other activities.

Day 8: Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest National park

Wakeup up very early, have heavy breakfast and with your packed lunch transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to the highest population of mountain gorillas in the world. Assemble at the respective park headquarters for registration and pre gorilla trekking briefing. In your group of eight, you will be allocated 1 gorilla family to trek. The hike uphill to meet the endangered gorillas starts at 8:00am and can last for between 2 to over 7 hours depending on the location of the gorillas and your hiking speed. You may encounter other wild animals such as African buffalos, Forest Elephants and colobus monkeys, which live in this impenetrable forest. The allowed time with gorillas is strictly an hour counted from the moment you meet the endangered apes. You will later return to Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort for an Overnight.

Day 9:Another free day at Lake Bunyonyi

Spend this day enjoying the beauty of Lake Bunyonyi. Have a sunrise breakfast at the resort and go any activity of your choice at the lake. The interesting activities to do on Lake Bunyonyi include swimming, visiting Nyombe swamp, bird watching, kayaking, batwa community tours and zip lining among others.  All meals and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort.

Day 10:  Golden monkey trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National park

Following an early cup of coffee, get your packed lunch and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National park in Kisoro district for golden monkey trekking experience. Assemble at Ntebeko visitor Information Centre where you will be registered and briefed on the dos and don’ts of golden monkey trekking. Together with your ranger guide, you will then hike into the jungle to meet up with these lively and playful creatures. Spend an hour in their company, take as many pictures as possible and enjoy this lifetime experience. Mgahinga Gorilla Park is also home to the endangered Nyakagyezi gorilla family and other primates.  Later on, return to Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Departure

Enjoy your last moments on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi, have a relaxed sunrise breakfast and check out. Transfer to Kampala for your departure flight at Entebbe International Airport.
